A new American study has revealed that babies exposed to mould are up to three times more likely to develop asthma.
"Early life exposure to mould seems to play a critical role in childhood asthma development,” study lead Tiina Reponen from the University of Cincinnatti said.
"Genetic factors are also important, since infants whose parents have allergies or asthma are at the greatest risk of developing asthma."
Researchers compared the mould exposure of 176 children using a DNA-based analysis tool and found that 18 per cent had developed asthma by the age of seven.

Thanks for sirahng! I agree with the statement that asthma protection is just one of many many benefits, but still, wow! I would love to learn more about the lung function finding too!
