Specialist health advisor for the homeless, Carol Bushnaq, impressed the industry expert judges to win the prestigious Journal of Family Health Care "Education for Infant Nutrition Award" for 2011.

The award earned her a fully funded place at a conference of her choosing, which she used to attend the CPHVA event in Brighton. There she was formally presented with the award by Danone regional business manager Duncan Barrow, whose Aptamil brand sponsored the prize.

Richard Boniface, Senior Brand Manager at Aptamil, said: "The standard of entries this year was high. However Carol's entry impressed me because she had specific needs for education and being informed which I thought were well articulated, well balanced and well thought through."

After receiving the award, Carol told us why she had chosen the CPHVA Conference as her prize: "The CPHVA conference is so important to me professionally and personally; it's the 'Oscars' for health visiting and everyone working to improve outcomes for children and families."
