Julie Van Onselen was awarded the title Best Healthcare Professional Trade Journalist at the Johnson & Johnson Skincare Journalism Awards in central London last night.
The judges commended Julie for her writing in the Journal of Family Healthcare, saying it was "well researched and in depth" and "could easily have been presented in a consumer magazine".
The awards, dubbed the "Oscars of the skincare industry" attracted 240 entries and the judging panel commended the high standard of entries. This is the first time an award has been presented in this category.
Eleven awards were presented overall, with 11 runner ups. Judges included several national magazine editors alongside highly respected consultant dermatologist Dr Susan Mayou.
Julie said afterwards that she "was shocked but delighted" to win.
Penny Hosie, editor of Journal of Family Healthcare, said "I am thrilled that Julie has received the recognition and endorsement of her peers. Julie always manages to convey often complex dermatological information to our journal readers in an easy to understand way. She is a worthy prizewinner."
The awards were presented at a gala dinner held at the Corinthia London last night (Tuesday 5 February).
