An astonishing 70 per cent of toddlers mispronounce the word "yellow", a new survey by Calpol has revealed.
The study into mispronounced words found that instead of saying "yellow", most toddlers instead say "lellow".
Other tough words included rabbit (mispronounced "wabbit"), birthday ("burstday") and spaghetti ("pispetti"). Some toddlers got even simple words, such as water ("morta"), wrong, while hospital became "hospital".
Calpol's brand manager, Claire Ryder, said: "The amusing things children say never fail to surprise us. We talk to parents all the time and it's really fascinating to hear how children communicate so effectively despite their limited vocabulary."
